COMMONWEALTH GAMES

 The Commonwealth Games are an international sport event where athletes from the countries which are part of the Nations of the Commonwealth. It is celebrated every 4 years, bringing athletes together from more than 70 different countries that historically have been related to the Britain Empire.

The first edition was celebrated in 1930, and took place in the city of Hamilton. From that time, these games have become in one of the most important sporting competition, after the Olympic Games.

In the games, there are many sport that are practised, such as swimming, boxing, gymnastics, cycling or athletics Furtheremore, since 2002, the have been including para-sports, which are practised by athletes with disabilities with the other athletes, which makes it a very inclusing event.

Thousands of athletes take part representing their respective countries and compete for medals during some days. For example, in the Commonwealth of Brimingham 2022 edition,  more than 4500 athletes from 72 different nations participated in this games.

The next edition of the Commonwealth Games is going to be the Commomwealth Games of Glasgow 2026, which is goint to be celebrated in Scotland between the 23th of july and the 2th of agust.
